Are You Planning to Fail??

Business, personal, and family planning all have a common thread. If you plan but don’t work with intent towards the goal, then it is just a dream.

Intent is the action that precedes “I will” and is responsible for most of one’s success. Without intent we are left to wander the day hoping to find a little guidance or perhaps stumble over a bit of good fortune.

Many years ago, I was working on a project and someone yelled good luck. Pausing for a moment, I remembered once being told that LUCK was the acronym for “Laboring Under Correct Knowledge”. I can’t say I remember who to attribute the quote to, but I still can recall it every time someone wishes me luck.

Consider intent placed inside of LUCK. Suddenly the day takes on a different focus. You can see the path laid out in front of you and it allows you to avoid the daily rabbit holes we all gaze deeply into. Those parts of the day that drag one away from their stated goal and swallow up precious time.

Very few top performers, athletes, and business leaders rely on fortune to guide their day. The most successful individuals practice their craft for hours to be ready for that single moment when they need to deliver the desired results. They map out the moment with clear intent then are on top of their game when called to perform. These people intend on succeeding each day.

What do you do every day to outline your intent?? Share your thoughts.
